Thursday Charity Give-away #10

Well, considering the overwhelmingly poor response (or lack of, to be exact) to last week’s image I’ve decided to scrap it for this week… and come up with another one! :D

It’s another computer desktop wallpaper change one, which was the original spark that started this whole competition thing in the first place. So tell me people, who is this, and what are they from? And as a bonus I’ll throw in an extra £5 if you tell me where the pose is from.

As per usual £20 goes to the charity of choice blah blah blah. Ready? GO!

Thursday Charity Give-away #9

T-T-T-Thursday! Three/four days of the week down (depending on where in Thursday you are) and only one to go before the weekend. Thursdays suck, don’t they? It’s one of the heaviest days at work for me, it’s that awkward not quite half the week and not quite the weekend day. But to make things better about Thursday, it’s charity day!

So tell me people, what is this?

As you already may have guessed (unless you’re new, in which case Welcome!) £20 goes to the charity of choice of the first person who can tell me what this is in the comments below.

This weeks correct answer goes to Shiki. He’s correctly answered that the image was a flat plan for a Great Rhombicosidodecahedron. Shiki has selected The Foundation to Assist Young Musicians as his charity of choice.

The name itself is fairly self explanatory, so I’ll forego the usual charity blurb. I encourage you to join in by donating alongside me as every little bit helps with these causes.

Look out for next week’s question. :)

P.S. There is a thing called moderated comments. There’s also another thing called patience. Apply one to the other and we get results. ;)

P.P.S. The Rubik’s cube clone/modification that Anonymous mentioned isn’t a Great Rhombicosidodecahedron, but close. It’s a handmade Dodecahedral Rubik’s style puzzle. Impressive, either way. Sadly, if you want one, you have to make it yourself. Still, that’s not exactly a bad thing. Would be fun. ;)

Thursday Charity Give-away #8

It’s Thursday already? This means I’m over half way through my week off work, which is Not A Good Thing. :(

Anyway, here it is.

Easy one again this week, I reckon. What is it? I could be evil and ask for volume too, but nah. (Although, if this one goes fast I’ll save that idea for the future ;)

As per usual, the first correct answer in the comments below will win £20 towards the charity of their choice. Have fun. :)

Thursday Charity Give-away Benefactor #7

Well, it looks like Tala has given the correct answer to this week’s give-away. Although I’ll admit that the answer isn’t 100% correct, but it’s close enough. It’s actually the screen of an LCD TV, but seeing as monitors and TVs use the same screens anyway, who’s counting? I count it as a win.

This week’s donation goes to Wolf Park in Indiana, USA. So far as I can tell, it’s a reserve for wolves, who also run events to raise awareness of wolves, while also being a research center for various other wildlife. Check their blog for a list of events they’ve run etc, if you’re interested.

Anyway, you people are too fast for me. Must think up more challenging pictures for you to guess. ;)

Until next time…

Thursday Charity Give-away #7

Thursday again. This one took me by surprise. Damn sneaky Thursdays.

What the heck is it?!

As usual, £20 to the charity of choice of the first person who can tell me what this is. Leave your answers in the comment section below. Have fun. ;)
