Thursday Charity Give-away Winner #3

Well, that was unexpected. No longer than 9 hours after the post was made, and there’s already a correct answer to this week’s challenge. Guess I made it too easy, huh. :P

The donation goes to Oxfam America this week, courtesy of Anonymous.

p.s. Anonymous posters confuse me. Contributing towards a good deed should go rewarded, even if only by personalised thanks. Please give your name next time. ;)

Thursday Charity Give-away #3

It’s here again, Thursday and another challenge. As usual, £20 will be donated to the charity of choice of the first person who can give me a correct answer in the comments of this entry. This time, a maths question. ;)

Now before you start complaining that it’s too hard or it’s been too long since you did maths in school, bear in mind that I came up with this question and I haven’t been in school for quite some time (I had to brush up on my geometry and trigonometry). And for added bonus, I’ve decided to give this one 4 days. The winner (if there are any participants xD) will be announced on Sunday evening.

Have fun :)

Edit: Seems the 4 day limit wasn’t needed huh. xD

Thursday Charity Give-away #2 winner

Due to lack of any closer answers, I’ve decided to declare Naomi Frampton this weeks winner. She correctly identified the Arduino development board (although I was holding out for an exact answer of an Arduino Duemilanove :P). A donation of £20 has gone towards the NSPCC on her behalf. Congratulations Nay. :)

Thursday Charity Give-away #1 winner

Well, it was a little late, but I’ve decided to accept an answer for the first Thursday question.

Tatami Galaxy ED screencap, a.k.a My new Desktop Wallpaper

My new wallpaper is actually a screencap from the last few seconds of the ED (ending) of the anime “The Tatami Galaxy“. The correct answer was given by my mother, oddly enough. The request was the donation goes to the NSPCC, and so that’s exactly where it’s gone.

Thursday charity give-away competitions

As some of you may have noticed, last week I randomly posted on my Twitter (@JeremyJFright) and Facebook that I’d give away £20 to the charity of choice of the person who correctly guessed where my new desktop wallpaper came from. While I didn’t get exactly an overwhelming response, I’ve decided that it would be fun enough to do it again. So I did. I posted another one earlier today, both on Facebook and Twitter. No one got it exactly yet, but I’m tempted to give it to the one who came closest anyway.

Ok, so as this will be regular I figure I should come up with some rules and such. Or not really rules, but how things will go. I’m going to start posting the pictures on this blog and post the link on both Twitter and Facebook, instead of ineffectively running the same give-away on two separate sites. All guesses will also preferably be posted on the blog entry, rather than in replies on either site. Instead of responding to each answer as they come, the correct answer, and the name of the first correct guess will be given on Friday, and the money will be donated at that time.

So yeah, that’s my new little thing. Have fun with it. :)

Ever wonder about old friends?

Ever wonder about old friends, or old acquaintances, or even old enemies? You know, the ones you don’t have any contact with anymore. The ones you lost touch with, or purposefully put out of life. The ones that left you behind, or you left behind.

Ever fondly think back on the things you used to do and say with those people? Or maybe not so fondly.

Ever wonder if they think of you in the same way?

Yeah, me too.

(This isn’t exactly a recovery of my failed attempt at a recovery of my blog. Just this thought didn’t really fit in 140 characters. :P)
